Welcome to Ateeq (عتيق). By creating an account, listing an item, messaging, or otherwise using Ateeq you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully — the most important point is that Ateeq is software only and never handles money between buyers and sellers.
Ateeq (عتيق) is a software platform that connects buyers and sellers of pre-loved fashion in the UAE. Ateeq is a classifieds and messaging service only. We are not a party to any transaction, are not the seller, agent, or broker of any item listed, and do not take possession of, inspect, or guarantee any item.
Ateeq NEVER handles, processes, holds, or transmits payments between buyers and sellers. There is no escrow, no commission, and no payment guarantee. Buyers and sellers arrange and complete payment and delivery directly between themselves, entirely at their own risk. Any meeting, inspection, shipping, refund, or dispute is solely between the buyer and the seller. We strongly recommend meeting in safe public places and verifying items before paying.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Ateeq. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for all activity under your account. Keep your password secure.
You may not list or trade: counterfeit, replica, or stolen goods; items you do not own or have no right to sell; weapons, drugs, tobacco, alcohol, or other illegal or regulated goods; hazardous, recalled, or unsanitary items; used underwear or items that violate UAE law or public decency; and anything that infringes another person's rights. We may remove any listing and suspend any account at our sole discretion.
You agree to deal honestly and respectfully. No harassment, hate speech, spam, scams, off-platform fee solicitation, fake reviews, or attempts to circumvent safety features. Misrepresenting an item's condition or authenticity is prohibited. You will comply with all applicable UAE laws.
Ateeq has ZERO TOLERANCE for objectionable content and abusive users. Hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, discriminatory, fraudulent, or otherwise objectionable content is strictly prohibited, and so is any abusive or threatening behaviour toward other users. Every listing and every profile can be reported from within the app, and any user can be blocked. We review reports and will remove objectionable content and eject the users who post it within 24 hours of a valid report. By using Ateeq you accept that there is no tolerance for such content or users.
You retain ownership of the photos and text you upload, but you grant Ateeq a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and promote your content for the purpose of operating the service. You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload. The Ateeq name, logo, and platform are our intellectual property and may not be copied or used without permission.
Boosts (featured/promoted listings) are optional paid software services that increase a listing's visibility. Boost fees are charged in AED and INCLUDE 5% UAE VAT. Boosts are a digital service that is activated immediately and are therefore NON-REFUNDABLE once purchased. A boost affects visibility only — it is not a guarantee of a sale, of buyer interest, or of any outcome. Ateeq does not charge any commission on sales.
Ateeq is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, Ateeq and its operator are not liable for any loss, damage, fraud, injury, non-payment, non-delivery, counterfeit goods, or dispute arising from dealings between users. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 3 months before the claim. You use the platform at your own risk and you agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your listings, content, or transactions.
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for any breach of these terms or to protect users. You may close your account at any time. Sections on liability, content licence, and governing law survive termination.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of the UAE have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
